SPECIFICATIONS FOR Halftones, Screens and Process FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINTING
SEPARATIONS
Duro prefers to arrange for process separations so that specifications will best fit the specific printing press substrate and design. Costs for separations, proofs, and plates will be quoted for approval prior to the start of your design.
DTP
Duro uses laser imaged plates for 4 color process and most halftone or duotone prints. Duro's Separator profiles our press ink set and plates. Duro provides a Kodak Approval for color target at press and an HP proof for approval of copy and positioning of all elements.
FLEXOGRAPHIC SCREEN SPECIFICATIONS
UNCOATED PAPER: 40% dot or less Tailprint: 45/65 line screen Preprint: 85/100 line screen

PREPARING FILES:
- SEPARATE LINE WORK FROM SCREENS AND PROCESS.
Ink laydown on process/halftone, mezzotints, etc. is achieved with a lower volume Anilox(ink) roller for clean sharp printing, therefore line colors are generally not printed in combination with screens. Submit files in Illustrator, Photoshop or a combination of both. Include all source files. Images must be 300 dpi at 100% size that they will print including all bleeds off top, bottom and side panels when this applies.
- All process, halftone, duotone, mezzo or screen tints are reviewed to determine the printing process, line screen, compensation and other specifications necessary to produce your designs. Compensation for dot gain depends on the type of paper stock on which your design will print.
- When submitting a 4 color process proof the proof must be submitted at 100% size that it will print. The line screen should match the type of paper, printing process and line screen as outlined in the "Flexographic Screen Specifications" section above.
