In Line Printing
Duro uses the Flexographic Printing Process with up to 4 color capability to print your design. The In Line process prints
and forms the printed roll of paper into bags in a one step process using Photopolymer Plates and water base inks.
Ink Color
Ink colors can be chosen from Duro's selection of Standard Ink Colors or PMS colors. PMS colors must meet a minimum order size of 250,000 bags or an up-charge per PMS color is assessed. PMS colors must be specified as "U" or "C".
Although printing on uncoated substrates the "C" color can be matched towards resulting in a cleaner more vibrant color.
GRAPHIC REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum: Positive line weight 1 point / reverse rule 2 point; Positive type 6 point / reverse type 10 point bold.
(Reverse type cannot have fine serifs.) ® TM SM © 6 point positive / 10 point bold reverse.
- Typefaces NOT recommended: Fine serif fonts especially in reverse print. Extra heavy or bold typefaces with fine open spaces; example lower case c's or a's. Extra condensed types have a tendency to bleed together also.
- If outlining a color, the outline must be at least 1/16th thick to allow for normal movement of +/- 1/16 inch without showing a gap. Overprint black outline and details, do not K/O under.
- Not recommended to print copy over the seam. If necessary, it is recommended to maintain a minimum 24 point font in only one color, using standard Helvetica scale.
- Keep copy at least 1/4 inch from the sides of the bag and bottom. Keep copy 1/2 inch from the top to avoid the thumb notch. Full face or back copy must bleed 1/8 inch into gusset and 3/8 inch into bottom.
- Avoid heavy ink coverage in the gusset areas and overprint of color to eliminate the possibility of ink smearing.
- Step and repeat the entire art for back of the bag and/or gussets for left and right sides. This is for seam match purposes and to accommodate for using the same artwork for both Side Seam and Center Seam bag conversion.
- Art must be submitted as a final digital vector art file at 100% on disk with vendor template provided. Macintosh format including all outline, screen and printer fonts and all support files. All files must be created and saved in Adobe Illustrator(preferred), Freehand or Quark. Files must include a composite color laser or proof and individual separations and a directory of disk contents.(Please indicate print out %.)
- All information on bottom panel must be placed in a position that will not be covered when the bag is formed. (See template for non-print areas.)
- Use vector art or paths to allow for trapping.
- 43 Line Screen
- Minimum: 10% Maximum: 60%(Duro adjusts for dot gain on press.)
- Halftones & Process files must include all Photoshop support files, files must be submitted at 300 dpi at 100%.
- We do NOT recommend vignettes. If a vignette is used it must end with 10% minimum and 60% maximum dot.
- Registration tolerance: + or - 1/16th per color
- Duro will provide appropriate trapping to the artwork.
Artwork must be designed to allow for 6.6 stroke trap.
